The Bystander Effect is something that we have discussed before, and this is a particularly good example.

It is an experiment that powerfully reveals the impact of this psychological process in social terms, including differences in behaviour relative to perceived socio-economic class.

There are many videos on YouTube and elsewhere that you can find that illustrate similar behaviour. I like this one is it is succinct, plus points to the ‘simple rules’ at play that people follow unconsciously. If you come across any others that are better, or illustrate an aspect of the Bystander Effect that this one does not, let us know.

Thanks to Jules Bevis for digging this one out.
